Apply online for Universal Pension Scheme
The government has issued universal pension scheme rules under the names 'Probash', 'Progoti', 'Surokkha' and 'Samota'. Bangladeshi citizens have to register online to participate in the scheme.
According to the rules, all Bangladeshi citizens between 18 and 50 years of age with national identity cards can register to participate in the applicable scheme. On special consideration, those above 50 years of age can also participate in the pension scheme. In this case, contributions must be paid continuously for 10 years from the date of joining the scheme. After completing 10 years of contribution, you will get lifetime pension.
Expatriate Bangladeshi nationals can also participate in this scheme. Expatriate Bangladeshi citizens who do not have national identity card can apply for registration in pension scheme with passport information.
Finance Ministry officials said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the public pension scheme on August 17.
